I/O menu Use the I/O menu to configure the printer I/O options. Table 7-45 I/O submenu Menu item I/O TIMEOUT PARALLEL INPUT EIO x (Where x=1, 2, or 3.) (HP Color LaserJet 4600/4650 only) Values 5 to 300 HIGH SPEED ADVANCED FUNCTIONS The following are the possible values: NOVELL DCL/LLC IPX/SPX TCP/IP APPLETALK Description Use this item to select the I/O timeout in seconds. Use this item to select the speed at which the parallel port communicates with the host, and to enable or disable the bidirectional parallel communication. HIGH SPEED: Select YES to enable the printer to accept the faster parallel communications that are used for connections with newer computers. The default for HIGH SPEED is YES. ADVANCED FUNCTIONS: Turn the bidirectional parallel communication on or off. The default is set for a bidirectional parallel port (IEEE-1284). The function allows the printer to send status readback messages to the computer. (Turning on the advanced parallel functions might slow language switching.) The default for ADVANCED FUNCTIONS is ON.
