Peer-to-peer (direct to network, HP Color LaserJet 4600 and 4650 models) Connect one end of a network cable to the computer. Connect the other end to the network. Connect one end of a second network cable to the printer and the other end to the network. Figure 3-8 Peer-to-peer connection (parallel) Enhanced I/O (EIO) configuration The HP Color LaserJet 4600 and 4650 printer models come equipped with three enhanced input/ output (EIO) slots. The three EIO slots hold compatible external devices such as the HP Jetdirect print server network cards or other devices. Plugging EIO network cards into the slots increases printer capabilities. The EIO network cards can maximize printer performance when you are printing from a network. They also provide the ability to place the printer anywhere on a network.
