DMS-3130 Series Multi-Gigabit L3 Stackable Managed Switch Web UI Reference Guide Cable Diagnostics The cable diagnostics feature is designed primarily for administrators or customer service representatives to verify and test copper cables; it can rapidly determine the quality of the cables and the types of error. To view the following window, click OAM > Cable Diagnostics, as shown below: Figure 10-21 Cable Diagnostics Window The fields that can be configured are described below: Parameter Unit From Port - To Port Description Select the Switch unit that will be used for this configuration here. This option is only available if stacking is enabled. Select the appropriate port range used for the configuration here. Click the Test button to test the specific port. Click the Clear button to clear all the information for the specific port. Click the Clear All button to clear all the information in this table. NOTE: Cable diagnostic function limitations. Cable length detection is only supported on physical port interface. NOTE: The maximum cable diagnosis length is 120 meters. NOTE: The deviation of cable length detection is about 10 meters for GE ports. Fault messages: • Unknown - The diagnosis result contains open, short or cross talk status. Any one of the status be detected, switch will display unknow error message. 419
