DXS-3610 Series Layer 3 Stackable 10GbE Managed Switch Web UI Reference Guide The fields that can be configured in IPv4 Ping are described below: Parameter VRF Name Target IPv4 Address Domain Name Ping Times Timeout Frequency Length ToS Stop Time Source IPv4 Address Description Enter the name of the VRF instance here. This name can be up to 12 characters long. Select and enter an IP address to be pinged. Select and enter the domain name of the system to discover. Enter the number of times desired to attempt to Ping the IPv4 address configured in this window. The range is from 1 to 255. Tick the Infinite check box to keep sending ICMP Echo packets to the specified IP address until the program is stopped. Select a timeout period here. The range is from 1 to 99 seconds for this Ping message to reach its destination. If the packet fails to find the IP address in this specified time, the Ping packet will be dropped. Enter the frequency time for the ping here. The range is from 0 to 86400. Enter the length value here. This specifies the number of data bytes to send. The default value is 56, which translates into 64 ICMP data bytes when combined with the 8 bytes of ICMP header data. It does not include any VLAN or IEEE 802.1Q tag length. The range is from 1 to 1420 bytes. Enter the ToS value here. This is used to configure the QoS on ICMP datagrams. The range is from 0 to 255. Enter the stop time value here. This specifies to stop the ping after the amount of times entered here. If this value is configured as 0, then the ping can only be stopped by clicking the Stop button manually. The range is from 0 to 99. Enter the source IPv4 address. If the current Switch has more than one IP address, you can enter one of them to this field. When entered, this IPv4 address will be used as the packets' source IP address sent to the remote host, or as primary IP address. Click the Start button to initiate the Ping Test for each individual section. The fields that can be configured in IPv6 Ping are described below: Parameter VRF Name Target IPv6 Address Domain Name Ping Times Timeout Frequency Length Stop Time Description Enter the name of the VRF instance here. This name can be up to 12 characters long. Enter an IPv6 address to be pinged. Select and enter the domain name of the system to discover. Enter the number of times desired to attempt to Ping the IPv6 address configured in this window. The range is from 1 to 255. Tick the Infinite check box to keep sending ICMPv6 Echo packets to the specified IPv6 address until the program is stopped. Select a timeout period here. The range is from 1 to 99 seconds for this Ping message to reach its destination. If the packet fails to find the IPv6 address in this specified time, the Ping packet will be dropped. Enter the frequency time for the ping here. The range is from 0 to 86400. Enter the length value here. This specifies the number of data bytes to send. The default value is 56, which translates into 64 ICMPv6 data bytes when combined with the 8 bytes of ICMPv6 header data. It does not include any VLAN or IEEE 802.1Q tag length. The range is from 1 to 1420 bytes. Enter the stop time value here. This specifies to stop the ping after the amount of times entered here. If this value is configured as 0, then the ping can only be stopped by clicking the Stop button manually. The range is from 0 to 99. 663

The fields that can be configured in
IPv4 Ping
are described below:
Parameter
Description
VRF Name
Enter the name of the VRF instance here. This name can be up to 12 characters
long.
Target IPv4 Address
Select and enter an IP address to be pinged.
Domain Name
Select and enter the domain name of the system to discover.
Ping Times
Enter the number of times desired to attempt to Ping the IPv4 address configured
in this window. The range is from 1 to 255. Tick the
Infinite
check box to keep
sending ICMP Echo packets to the specified IP address until the program is
stopped.
Timeout
Select a timeout period here. The range is from 1 to 99 seconds for this Ping
message to reach its destination. If the packet fails to find the IP address in this
specified time, the Ping packet will be dropped.
Frequency
Enter the frequency time for the ping here. The range is from 0 to 86400.
Length
Enter the length value here. This specifies the number of data bytes to send. The
default value is 56, which translates into 64 ICMP data bytes when combined with
the 8 bytes of ICMP header data. It does not include any VLAN or IEEE 802.1Q
tag length. The range is from 1 to 1420 bytes.
ToS
Enter the ToS value here. This is used to configure the QoS on ICMP datagrams.
The range is from 0 to 255.
Stop Time
Enter the stop time value here. This specifies to stop the ping after the amount of
times entered here. If this value is configured as 0, then the ping can only be
stopped by clicking the
Stop
button manually. The range is from 0 to 99.
Source IPv4 Address
Enter the source IPv4 address. If the current Switch has more than one IP
address, you can enter one of them to this field. When entered, this IPv4 address
will be used as the packets’ source IP address sent
to the remote host, or as
primary IP address.
Click the
Start
button to initiate the Ping Test for each individual section.
The fields that can be configured in
IPv6 Ping
are described below:

Ping Times
Enter the number of times desired to attempt to Ping the IPv6 address configured
in this window. The range is from 1 to 255. Tick the
Infinite
check box to keep
sending ICMPv6 Echo packets to the specified IPv6 address until the program is
stopped.
Timeout
Select a timeout period here. The range is from 1 to 99 seconds for this Ping
message to reach its destination. If the packet fails to find the IPv6 address in this
specified time, the Ping packet will be dropped.
Frequency
Enter the frequency time for the ping here. The range is from 0 to 86400.
Length
Enter the length value here. This specifies the number of data bytes to send. The
