Preface Audience The DGS-6600 Configuration Guide contains information for the setup and management of the DGS-6600 Switch. The term, "the Switch" will be used when referring to the DGS-6600. This Configuration Guide is intended for network managers and individuals familiar with network management concepts and terminology. Related Documentation • DGS-6600 Command Line Reference Guide Typographical Conventions The conventions used in this Configuration Guide are explained in the following table: Convention Typewriter Font Boldface Typewriter Font BOLD UPPER CASE ITALIC TYPEWRITER FONT Square brackets [ ] Vertical bar | Braces { } , - Angle brackets Bold Font Italic Font Description This is used in the CLI examples to represent the text that is seen in the Switch console window and the output. This is also used to indicate Switch responses. This is used in the CLI examples to represent the commands that the user will type in the Switch console window. The commands must be typed exactly as printed in the manual. This is used in the CLI examples to indicate the parameters in a CLI command. This token specifies optional elements. A user can specify zero, one, or multiple elements. This token separates the alternative elements. This token specifies a required element. The user must specify one of the elements. These tokens specify that multiple interfaces can be specified. The '-' symbol is used to represent a range of interfaces and the ',' symbol is used to connect multiple ranges. This token represents the numeric range of a parameter. The available range is enclosed in the symbols. Indicates a Switch command or a Keyword. Indicates a variable or parameter that is replaced with an appropriate word or string. Example DGS-6600:2> configure terminal VLAN-NAME [view VIEW-NAME] dhcp | bootp {1 | 2c | 3 {auth | noauth | priv}} [,|-] configure terminal Type the IP address of your TFTP Server.
