Enables the Telnet service. Configuring the Telnet Service Port The user can change the port used by the Telnet service by using the following command in global configuration mode: Command ip telnet service-port TCP-PORT Explanation Configures the port used by the Telnet service. To return the Telnet service on the Switch to the default setting use the default form of the command. In the following example, the user configures the TCP port number for Telnet to be 3000: DGS-6600:15#configure terminal DGS-6600:15(config)#ip telnet service-port 3000 DGS-6600:15(config)#end Specifying Telnet Terminals The user can specify the hosts that are allowed to manage the Switch using a Telnet connection by using the following command in global configuration mode: Command ip trusted-host {IP-ADDRESS | NETWORKADDRESS/PREFIX-LENGTH} telnet Explanation Specifies a host that is allowed to manage the Switch using a Telnet connection.
