Using Windows NT 4.0 Installing Windows NT 4.0 The following applications: • Phoenix CardExecutive for Windows NT 4.0 • Phoenix APM for Windows NT 4.0 You need to install the HP Notebook Mobile Enhancements for Windows NT 4.0 for both the retail and factory-installation. You can download the Phoenix APM and CardExecutive documentation from the following websites: • http://www.phoenix.com/platform/apm-portables.html • http://www.phoenix.com/platform/cardexec.html Requirements: • HP Notebook with Windows NT 4.0 and Service Pack 3, 4 or 5 installed • Windows NT 4.0 HP Notebook Mobile Enhancements Location: http://www.hp.com/omnibook, in \HP\DRIVERS\NT4\APM and \HP\DRIVERS\NT4\PCCRD. To install APM Phoenix APM adds the following capabilities to the HP Notebook: • Improved battery life under Windows NT 4.0. • PC Card power management • Convenient user control and monitoring of power settings and status To install APM: 1. Go to the APM directory and run SETUP.EXE. 2. Click the APM button to start installation. 3. Click OK. 4. When prompted, restart Windows NT. (If you wish to install Phoenix CardExecutive, do not restart at this time.) To install Card Executive To take advantage of Card Executive's plug-n-play for PCMCIA network cards, you must install Card Executive before installing Windows NT networking.
