portPerfShow 2 portPerfShow Synopsis Displays port throughput performance. portperfshow [-tx -rx | -tx | -rx] [interval] Description Use this command to display throughput information for all ports on a switch or chassis. Output includes the number of bytes received and transmitted per interval. Throughput values are displayed as either bytes, kilobytes (k), megabytes (m), or gigabytes (g). Values are rounded down. The data is displayed in 8 or 16 columns, one column per port plus one column that displays the total for these ports. Results display every second or over a specified interval. Press Enter, Ctrl-c, or Ctrl-d to terminate the command. When executed with the command line arguments -tx, -rx, or -tx -rx, this command displays the transmitter bandwidth, the receiver bandwidth, or both. Bandwidth is displayed in Gbps. For ports with status of "No_Module" or "No_Light" bandwidth is displayed as 00. For "Trunk ports" the bandwidth is shown for "Master ports" only; the bandwidth for "slave ports" is displayed as 00. When executed with the -tx or -rx option, the data is displayed in 16 columns, one column per port with transmitter or receiver bandwidth. When executed with the -tx -rx option the data is displayed in eight columns, one column with transmitter and receiver bandwidth per port basis. Note The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric or Admin Domain restrictions that may be in place. Refer to chapter 1, "Using Fabric OS Commands" and Appendix A, "Command Availability" for details. When Fastwrite or Tape Pipelining is enabled, the portPerfShow VE link output is different. The acceleration entity (Fastwrite or Tape Piplelining) responds by sending XFER_RDY and status well ahead of the actual device's response to the host. The host sends data which is stored near the device and is delivered to the device only when the device is ready. Consequently, the data may be stored near the target for some brief period of time. In this case, the portPerfShow output on the VE link may not match the output on the device port. Operands This command has the following optional operands: interval Specifies the interval, in seconds, between each sample. Default is one second. -tx Displays the transmitter bandwidth. -rx Displays the receiver bandwidth. -tx -rx Displays the transmitter and receiver bandwidth.
