◦ Windows Vista and Windows 7 Easy Login on Windows Vista and Windows 7 uses Credential Providers to allow the user to be authenticated through their standard username/password mechanism or using smartcard or activkey technologies. Single Sign-on does not support smartcard or activkey technologies. The only Credential Providers supported when using Easy Login are the Microsoft Password Credential Provider and the Microsoft Smartcard Credential Provider. For example if a smartcard or activkey is not connected to the system, the user will be authenticated through their standard username/password mechanism. However if a smartcard or activkey is connected to the system, Easy Login will use that device to authenticate the user.
