Use the snmp-server user, snmpserver group and snmp-server user global configuration commands to generate a user, group and notify group, respectively. To define an SNMP recipient on the out-of-band port, use the out-of-band IP address format oob/ip-address. NOTE: The type of trap (i.e trap, notification or inform) depends on how the trap receiver has been configured. Example The following example configures an SNMPv3 host. Console (config)# snmp-server v3-host 192.168.0.20 john show snmp engineID The show snmp engineID privileged EXEC command displays the ID of the local Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) engine. Syntax show snmp engineID Default Configuration This command has no default configuration. Command Mode Privileged EXEC mode User Guidelines There are no user guidelines for this command.
