map protocol protocols-group The map protocol protocols-group VLAN database command adds a special protocol to a named group of protocols, which may be used for protocol-based VLAN assignment. To delete a protocol from a group, use the no form of this command. Syntax map protocol protocol [encapsulation] protocols-group group no map protocol protocol encapsulation • protocol-The protocol is a protocol number or one of the reserved names. The format is Hex format. • encapsulation-One of the following values: ethernet, rfc1042, llcOther. If no option is indicated the default is ethernet. • group-Group number of group of protocols associated together. (Range: 1 - 2147483647) Default Configuration This command has no default configuration. Command Mode VLAN Database mode User Guidelines The following protocol names are reserved: • ip-arp • ipx Example The following example maps protocol ip-arp to the group named "213". Console (config)# vlan database Console (config-vlan)# map protocol ip-arp protocols-group 213 switchport general map protocols-group vlan The switchport general map protocols-group vlan interface configuration command sets a protocol-based classification rule. To delete a classification, use the no form of this command. Syntax switchport general map protocols-group group vlan vlan-id no switchport general map protocols-group group VLAN Commands 463
