If unspecified, the default level is errors. • facility-The facility that is indicated in the message. Can be one of the following values: local0, local1, local2, local3, local4, local5, local 6, local7. If unspecified, the port number defaults to local7. • text-Syslog server description, which can be up to 64 characters. Default Configuration As described in the field descriptions. Command Mode Global Configuration mode User Guidelines Multiple syslog servers can be used. If no specific severity level is specified, the global values apply to each server. To define a logging server on the out-of-band port, use the out-of-band IP address format - oob/ip-address. Example The following example configures messages with a "critical" severity level so that they are logged to a syslog server with an IP address 10.1.1.1. Console (config)# logging 10.1.1.1 severity critical logging console The logging console global configuration command limits messages logged to the console based on severity. To disable logging to the console terminal, use the no form of this command. Syntax logging console level no logging console • level-Limits the logging of messages displayed on the console to a specified level: emergencies, alerts, critical, errors, warnings, notifications, informational, debugging.
