SYSTEM OVERVIEW FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS Audio and CNS Emergency Mode The emergency frequency (121.500 MHz) can be tuned in COM1 by selecting the emergency mode. Selecting emergency mode: 1) Select the PFD Settings Softkey on the PFD. 2) Select the Other PFD Settings Softkey on the PFD. 3) Select the COM1 121.5 Softkey on the PFD to tune COM1 to the emergency frequency. Emergency Mode Active Figure 4-62 COM1 Emergency Mode Active Audio Controller Fail-Safe Operation If there is a failure of the Audio Panel, a fail-safe circuit connects the pilot's headset and microphone directly to the COM1 transceiver.
