SYSTEM OVERVIEW FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS EIS Hazard Avoidance The METAR flag color is determined by the information in the METAR text. The system displays a gray METAR flag when the METAR text does not contain adequate information to determine the METAR category (e.g. VFR, IFR). Touch the Legend Button on the Connext Weather Settings Screen to display weather legend(s) for weather product(s) enabled on the Connext Weather Pane. Scroll as necessary to view the information, then touch Back or Home. Figure 6-65 METAR Legend Winds Aloft The Winds Aloft weather product (Figure 6-66) shows the predicted wind speed and direction at the surface and at selected altitudes. Altitude can be displayed in 3,000-foot increments from the surface up to 42,000 feet MSL. Displaying Winds Aloft data: 1) From Home, touch Weather > Weather Selection > Connext Weather > Connext Settings. 2) Scroll if needed in the Overlays window and touch the Winds Aloft Button. 3) Touch the Winds Aloft altitude button (to the right of the Winds Aloft Button) and touch the desired winds aloft altitude from Surface to 42,000 feet MSL in the pop-up window.
