SYSTEM OVERVIEW FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS EIS AVOIDANCE MANAGEMENT AUDIO & CNS Hazard Avoidance Icing (CIP & SLD) Note: Icing data cannot be displayed at the same time as NEXRAD data. Current Icing Product (CIP) data (Figure 6-33) shows a graphical view of the icing environment. Icing severity is displayed in four categories: light, moderate, severe, and extreme (not specific to aircraft type). The CIP product is not a forecast, but a presentation of the current conditions at the time of the analysis. Supercooled Large Droplet (SLD) icing conditions are characterized by the presence of relatively large, super cooled water droplets indicative of freezing drizzle and freezing rain aloft. SLD threat areas are depicted as magenta dots over the CIP colors. Displaying Icing data: 1) From Home, touch Weather > Weather Selection > SiriusXM Weather > SiriusXM Settings. 2) Scroll as needed in the Overlays window and touch the Current Icing Potential Button. 3) Touch the Current Icing Potential altitude button (to the right of the Current Icing Potential annunciator Button) and scroll to and touch the desired altitude button (from 1,000 feet up to 30,000 feet.)
