AC1600 WiFi Cable Modem Router 6. Make sure that the Use Gateway as DHCP Server check box is selected. This check box is selected by default. 7. Specify the range of IP addresses that the modem router assigns: • In the Starting IP Address field, enter the lowest number in the range. This IP address must be in the same subnet as the modem router. By default, the starting IP address is 192.168.0.2. • In the Ending IP Address field, enter the number at the end of the range of IP addresses. This IP address must be in the same subnet as the modem router. By default, the ending IP address is 192.168.0.254. 8. Click the Apply button. Your settings are saved. Manage Universal Plug and Play Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) enables devices, such as Internet devices and computers, to access the network and connect to other devices as needed. UPnP devices can automatically discover the services from other registered UPnP devices on the network. If you use applications such as multiplayer gaming, peer-to-peer connections, or real-time communications such as instant messaging or remote assistance, NETGEAR recommends that you keep UPnP enabled, which is the default setting.
