Receiving fax problems Use the table in this section to solve problems that might occur when receiving faxes. Problem Cause Solution Unable to start receiving faxes from an extension phone. The Extension Phone setting might be disabled. The telephone cord might not be securely connected. See "Enabling an extension phone" on page 93 for instructions about changing this setting. Check that the telephone cord is securely connected between the phone and the product (or other device connected to the product). Press 1-2-3 in sequence, wait for three seconds, and then hang up.
