Message Cause Solution RECEIVING FAX BUSY CANCELED FAX The fax line to which you were sending a fax was busy. The product has cancelled sending the fax. Call the recipient to ensure that fax machine is on and ready. Check that you are dialing the correct fax number. Check that the redial on busy option is enabled. Press and hold STOP/CLEAR for seven seconds to check for a dial tone. Unplug the product telephone cord from the wall, plug in a telephone, and try making a call. Plug the product phone cord into a jack for another phone line. See "Resolving fax problems" on page 149. RECEIVING FAX BUSY REDIAL PENDING The fax line to which you were sending a fax was busy. The product automatically redials the busy number. (See "Changing how the product redials" on page 83.) Allow the product to retry sending the fax. Call the recipient to ensure that fax machine is on and ready. Check that you are dialing the correct fax number. Unplug the product telephone cord from the wall, plug in a telephone, and try making a call. Plug the product phone cord into a jack for another phone line. See "Resolving fax problems" on page 149. SCANNER RESERVED FOR PC SCAN The product is being used to create a scan by a PC. Wait until the PC scan has finished, cancel the scan from the PC software, or press STOP/CLEAR. SCANNING ERROR. CANNOT CONNTECT TO PC The product cannot transmit scanned information to a PC. Check the PC connection cable, and try the scan again. SPEED DIAL (NUMBER) NOT PROGRAM-MED The one-touch key or speed-dial code has Choose a speed-dial code to which you not been programmed, and therefore have already assigned a fax number.
