ERPS The Switch supports ITU-T G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) to provide a reliable mechanism of malfunction recovery in an Ethernet ring topology network. ERPS Global Settings This window is used to enable global ERPS function on the Switch. When both the global state and the specified ring ERPS state are enabled, the specified ring will be activated. The global ERPS function cannot be enabled when any ERPS ring on the device is enabled and the integrity of any ring parameter is not available. For each ring, with the individual ring state enabled and ERPS enabled globally, the following integrity will be checked: 1. The Ring-Automatic Protection Switching (R-APS) VLAN is created. 2. The Ring port is a tagged member port of the R-APS VLAN. 3. The Ring Protection Link (RPL) port is specified if the RPL owner is enabled. The default state is Disabled. To view this window, click L2 Features > ERPS > ERPS Global Settings, as shown below. The Switch supports ITU-T G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) to provide a reliable mechanism of malfunction
recovery in an Ethernet ring topology network.
ERPS Global Settings
This window is used to enable global ERPS function on the Switch. When both the global state and the specified ring ERPS state
are enabled, the specified ring will be activated. The global ERPS function cannot be enabled when any ERPS ring on the device
is enabled and the integrity of any ring parameter is not available. For each ring, with the individual ring state enabled and ERPS
enabled globally, the following integrity will be checked:
1.
The Ring-Automatic Protection Switching (R-APS) VLAN is created.
2.
The Ring port is a tagged member port of the R-APS VLAN.
3.
The Ring Protection Link (RPL) port is specified if the RPL owner is enabled.
