Preparing the Camera Using the Optional EVF-V70 OLED Electronic Viewfinder After attaching the supplied clamp base to the camera, you can attach the optional EVF-V70 OLED Electronic Viewfinder to the clamp base. An optional UN-5 or UN-10 Unit Cable is required to connect the optional viewfinder to the camera. You can adjust the viewfinder's swing arm and clamp rail sliders to set the viewfinder to a comfortable viewing angle. To protect the viewfinder's OLED panel, the viewfinder will be dimmed 41 automatically when it is not in use. Throughout the manual, the EVF-V70 will be referred to simply as "the optional viewfinder". Attaching the Optional Viewfinder 1 Press the Q button to turn off the camera. 2 On the optional viewfinder, loosen the swing arm's locking screw (clamp rail side). 3 Remove the clamp rail's end cap. 4 Insert the swing arm's slider into the clamp rail with the "TOP" label facing up. 5 Attach the end cap to the clamp rail. 6 Attach the supplied clamp base to the desired position on top of the camera and loosen the clamp rail locking screw. • Use the supplied hex wrench to secure it firmly with the 4 hex socket head bolts. 7 Remove the end cap from the other arm of the clamp rail and insert the slider at the front of the clamp base into the clamp rail. 8 Attach the end cap to the clamp rail. ቨ, ቩ ቤ ቦ ብ ባ ቧ ቧ 9 Loosen the other swing arm's locking screw (viewfinder side). ቪ 10 Adjust the optional viewfinder to the desired position (up/down, front/back) and fasten all the screws. • Be sure to firmly hold the viewfinder with one hand as you adjust its position. • Fasten the two locking screws of the swing arm and the clamp rail locking screw on the clamp base. ቫ ቫ
