25 System Time The commands in this chapter configure time values on the system, either using the Dell Networking OS, the hardware, or using the network time protocol (NTP). With NTP, the switch can act only as a client to an NTP clock host. The NTP commands are: • ntp server • show clock • clock set • clock summer-time date • clock summer-time recurring • clock timezone ntp server Configure an NTP time-serving host. Syntax Parameters ntp server {ipv4-address} ipv4-address Enter an IPv4 address (A.B.C.D). Defaults Command Modes Command History Usage Information Not configured. CONFIGURATION Version 9.4(0.0) Supported on the FN I/O aggregator. You can configure multiple time-serving hosts (up to 250). From these timeserving hosts, the operating system chooses one NTP host with which to synchronize. Because many polls to NTP hosts can impact network performance, Dell Networking recommends limiting the number of hosts configured. 257
