Chapter 5 Tutorials 5.5.1 Windows 7 Desktop Shortcut This is the NAS's desktop shortcut. Double-click it to open a properties window (see page 95). EXAMPLE 1 Right-click the NAS's desktop shortcut icon to see these options: • Open Media Player opens the computer's default media player. • Open file location takes you to the Windows 7 Devices and Printers folder. • Download NAS Starter Utility downloads the NAS's Starter Utility. It lets you find, set up, and manage the NAS as well as copy files to it and access the files on it. See Chapter 2 on page 19 for details. • Restore previous versions is the Windows 7 option for restoring a file or folder. It does not apply to this shortcut. • Send to give you options for copying the shortcut to another location. • Cut removes this shortcut so you can paste it somewhere else. • Copy copies the shortcut so you can paste it somewhere else.
