Logging Out, To end the Web Tools session

Page 42 highlights

1 Logging Out You can end a Web Tools session either by logging out or by closing the Switch Explorer browser window. All windows belonging to the session are invalidated. After a short delay, a message appears stating the session has been invalidated, but you must close them manually. Sometimes you might be logged out of a session involuntarily, without explicitly clicking the Logout button. You are automatically logged out when: • A physical fabric administrator changes the contents of your currently selected Admin Domain. • Your currently selected Admin Domain is removed or invalidated. • Your currently selected Admin Domain is removed from your Admin Domain list. • You initiate a firmware download from the Web Tools Switch Admin module. In this case, you are logged out a few minutes later when the switch reboots. • Your session times out. If you are logged out involuntarily, you are prompted to log in again to initiate a new session. If the logout was caused by a firmware download, you must cancel the login dialog box, close all open browser windows and dialog boxes, and reinitiate your Web Tools session to load the new software version. Note If subordinate windows are open, the login dialog box might be hidden by one of the subordinate windows; however, you cannot close or minimize the subordinate window until you either log in or cancel the login dialog box. You must access the Switch Explorer window to see the login dialog box. To end the Web Tools session Perform one of the following: • Click Logout in the Switch Explorer. • Click the X in the upper-right corner of the Switch Explorer browser window to close it. • Click Cancel on the log in the dialog box. • Close all open browser windows. 1-16 Web Tools Administrator's Guide Publication Number: 53-0000194-01
