Field Replaceable Units (FRUs) FRU Removal and Replacement I/O Cards The J5000 and J7000 workstations have 64-bit slots for PCI (Peripheral Connect Interface) I/O cards. As you face the front of the workstation, the I/O slots are located on the I/O board on the right side of the workstation. There are five PCI-2X slots, two PCI-4X slots, and one slot for power only. Removing an I/O Card To remove an I/O card, do the following: 1. Remove the top panel and the right side panel of the workstation. 2. Locate the I/O board and its I/O slots on the right side of the workstation, as shown in Figure 4-34. Note that the I/O board extends up behind the power supply, and that the eight I/O slots are located below the power supply. Figure 4-34. Remove the PCI retainer clip by pressing down on the thumb tab and pulling the clip forward to rotate it out of the chassis floor hole, as shown in Figure 4-35 on the next page. Chapter 4 121

I/O Cards
The J5000 and J7000 workstations have 64-bit slots for PCI (Peripheral Connect Interface)
I/O cards. As you face the front of the workstation, the I/O slots are located on the I/O

Removing an I/O Card
To remove an I/O card, do the following:
1.
Remove the top panel and the right side panel of the workstation.
2.

Figure 4-34. Note that the I/O board extends up behind the power supply, and that the
