Regulations FCC regulations WARNING! The HP Color 9850mfp can generate, use, and also radiate radio frequency energy. If it is not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, interference with radio communications may occur. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A computing device, pursuant to Subpart B, Part 15, of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules, which are designed to provide reasonable protection against interference from such equipment when it is operating in a commercial environment. Users operating this equipment in a residential area are likely to cause interference, in which case they may be required to correct the interference at their own expense. FCC Class A Statement This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference, in which case the users will be required to correct the interference at their own expense. The end users of this product should be aware that any changes or modifications made to this equipment without the approval of Hewlett-Packard could result in the product not meeting the Class A limits, in which case the FCC could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. FDA regulations This MFP is certified as a "Class 1" laser product under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Radiation Performance Standard according to the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968. Since radiation emitted inside this MFP is completely confined within protective housings and covers, the laser beam cannot escape during any phase of normal operation. Laser safety The Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has implemented regulations for laser products manufactured since August 1, 1976. Compliance is mandatory for products marketed in the United States. The MFP is certified as a "Class 1" laser product under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Radiation Performance Standard according to the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968. Since radiation emitted inside the MFP is completely confined within protective housings and external covers, the laser beam cannot escape during any phase of normal user operation. WARNING!
