Punching file holes in copies The Punch mode is available only when the HP 3 Hole Punch Kit option is installed on the HP 3000-Sheet Stapler/Stacker and HP 3000-Sheet Multifunction Finisher. When the Punch mode is selected in combination with any of the Main tray output modes, each copied sheet is punched and put into to the Main output tray according to the selected output mode. The following situations may conflict with the punching function: ● Some staple positions previously selected may conflict with this function. ● Special size paper (STD size (special), Non STD size, Wide paper) cannot be punched. ● If the Automatic Tray Switching (ATS) functions while the engine uses the Punch mode, the punch holes may be slightly off the appropriate positions. ● Do not punch special paper type such as labels, tabbed sheets, etc. ● Make sure that the paper guides of the paper tray are securely aligned with the paper; otherwise the copies may not be punched in the correct position. Specifications for Punch mode ● Copy paper size: 305 by 457 mm (12 by 18 inches), Ledger, Letter (20 lb paper recommended) ● Paper weight: 64 g/m2 to 128 g/m2 (6 lb to 34 lb) paper recommended ● Number of holes: 3 holes, 2 holes, 4 holes, and 4 holes Swedish Style ● Hole diameter: 8 mm ± 0.5 mm (0.315 ± 0.020 inch) ● Hole pitch: 108 mm ± 0.5 mm (4.252 ± 0.020 inch) ● Incompatible conditions: using scanner glass (available when using Scanner store mode), Rotation sort, Rotation group, Folding, Stapling & Folding, Three-folding, Cover sheet mode, Output modes using secondary tray, Mixed original 216 by 279 mm (8.5 by 11R inches), 139 by 216 mm (5.5 by 8.5 mixed), Copy insertion mode in Chapter, Cover sheet mode in Booklet. t 1 Touch OUTPUT APPLI on the Main screen to display the Output mode popup menu. 2 Touch MAIN TRAY, if not highlighted. Punching file holes in copies
The Punch mode is available only when the HP 3 Hole Punch Kit option is installed on the
HP 3000-Sheet Stapler/Stacker and HP 3000-Sheet Multifunction Finisher.
When the Punch mode is selected in combination with any of the Main tray
output modes,
each copied sheet is punched and put into to the Main output tray according to the selected
output mode.
The following situations may conflict with the punching function:
Some staple positions previously selected may conflict with this function.
Special size paper (STD size (special), Non STD size, Wide paper) cannot be punched.
If the Automatic Tray Switching (ATS) functions while the engine uses the Punch mode,
the punch holes may be slightly off the appropriate positions.
Do not
punch special paper type such as labels, tabbed sheets, etc.
Make sure that the paper guides of the paper tray are securely aligned with the paper;
