Section 1 Basic Use of this Fax (3) Canceling a Reception All fax receptions are handled as operations in the background of the message display. In order to cancel a background operation, it is first necessary to make that operation appear in the message display. Perform the following procedure to cancel this type of communication. Raise the cover plate and press the Alternate Display key. The 1 background operation currently in progress will appear in the message display. (Inch) (Metric) (4) Canceling a Polling Transmission in Memory or a Communication That is Waiting for a Start Time Perform the following procedure to cancel a communication that is in memory waiting for a start time or to cancel a Polling Transmission. * You CANNOT cancel a communication that is in memory waiting to be forwarded to a destination fax. * If you want to cancel the procedure part way through, press the Reset key. The operation panel will return to the initial mode settings. Entering the "Communication information" mode 1 Raise the cover plate and press the Information key. The "Communication information" menu will appear in the message display. (Inch) (Metric) Communication information: Á Tx result on LCD Rx result on LCD Edit Communication information: Á TX result display RX result display Edit (Inch) P (Metric) P Use the cursor up or the cursor down key to select "Edit". 2 (Inch) (Metric) * If you attempt to cancel a reception that is scheduled from multiple transmitting faxes (such as a Polling Reception) and there were fax machines still remaining to be received from, a message will appear in the message display asking whether or not you want to continue the receptions from the remaining faxes. > If you select "Yes", receptions will be carried out from the remaining faxes. > If you select "No", or if you make no selection and the Auto Clear function engages and clears the message display, reception from the remaining faxes will also be canceled as well. Perform the following procedure to cancel this type of communication.

message display.
Press the Stop/Clear key while you are still holding the
Alternate Display key down. The reception will be canceled.
* If you attempt to cancel a reception that is scheduled from
multiple transmitting faxes (such as a Polling Reception) and
there were fax machines still remaining to be received from,
a message will appear in the message display asking
whether or not you want to continue the receptions from the
remaining faxes.
