Complete Erasure of Data
JOB ERASE
Job Erase occurs after each job. The C360/C280/C220 does not store data from
a job on its hard disk drive unless it is set to save the data in a Box or the print
job exceeds the RAM memory. In either case, this function completely deletes
the image data that remains on the hard drive after copying, printing, scanning
or faxing, by overwriting it with specially formatted data then erasing it. Data
is temporarily written on the hard drive, then erased as soon as the job is completed.
For further protection, the C360/C280/C220 writes specially formatted data over
all of the image data, so that it is completely destroyed and unrecoverable.
HDD SANITIZING
The HDD Sanitizing function is performed prior to disposing or relocating the
device. Random data is written over all previous data on the hard disk drive for
deletion, making it completely unreadable. The erase data can’t be recovered
even with decoding software. This function is set in Administrator Mode. The
Administrator can select from 8 different delete patterns. If the customer wants
to use the HDD after its been sanitized, the HDD must be reformatted.
