xStack Gigabit Layer 3 Switch Command Line Interface Manual erase Purpose Syntax Description Parameters Restrictions Used to delete a file from the storage media accessory. erase {} This command is used to delete a file listed on the storage media accessory. - Enter the path and name of the file to be deleted. Only administrator-level users can issue this command. Example usage: To delete a file: DGS-3324SRi:4#erase c:/aaa.cfg Command: erase c:/aaa.cfg processing...100 % Done!! DGS-3324SRi:4# format Purpose Syntax Description Parameters Restrictions To format the storage media accessory format [FAT16] [fast | full | full_with_MBR] {} This command is used to format the storage media accessory. - Specify the drive of the storage media accessory to be formatted. FAT16 - The type of file allocation table to be used to format the storage media accessory. [fast | full | full_with_mbr] - Choose the type of formatting to be done. • Fast - Denotes formatting just the file architecture of the storage media accessory. This will not clear the data sectors. • full - Denotes a full format. This option will clear all sectors in a partition except the Master Boot Record. • full_with_MBR - Dentoes that a full format will occur and all sectors of the card will be cleared, including the Master Boot Record. - Enter a previously set name associated with this storage media accessory.
