xStack Gigabit Layer 3 Switch Command Line Interface Manual 11 FORWARDING DATABASE COMMANDS The forwarding database commands in the Command Line Interface (CLI) are listed (along with the appropriate parameters) in the following table. Command create fdb create multicast_fdb config multicast_fdb config fdb aging_time delete fdb clear fdb show multicast_fdb show fdb show ipfdb config fdb destination_hit ports show fdb destination_hit ports Parameters port [add | delete] [vlan | port | all] {vlan | mac_address } {port | vlan | mac_address | static | aging_time} {} [ | all] [enable | disable] {} Each command is listed, in detail, in the following sections. create fdb Purpose Syntax Description Parameters Restrictions Used to create a static entry to the unicast MAC address forwarding table (database). create fdb port This command will make an entry into the Switch's unicast MAC address forwarding database. − The name of the VLAN on which the MAC address resides. − The MAC address that will be added to the forwarding table. port − The port number corresponding to the MAC destination address. The Switch will always forward traffic to the specified device through this port. The port is specified by listing the switch number and the port number on that switch, separated by a colon. For example, 1:3 specifies switch number 1, port 3. 2:4 specifies switch number 2, port 4. Only administrator-level users can issue this command. Example usage: To create a unicast MAC FDB entry: 91
