The remote IP address will then "echo" or return the message. This is used to confirm connectivity between the Switch and the remote device. - Specifies the IP address of the host. times - The number of individual ICMP echo messages to be sent. The maximum value is 255. The default is 0. timeout - Defines the time-out period while waiting for a response from the remote device. A value of 1 to 99 seconds can be specified. The default is 1 second. Pinging an IP address without the times parameter will ping the target device an infinite amount of times. None.
