Troubleshooting Communication Problems Start Printer connected to Yes some type of sharing device? No Disconnect the printer from the sharing device. Connect the printer directly to the host. Retest. From DOS, send the following command to print the DOS directory: DIR>LPT1: Prints the DOS Yes directory? No Printer communicates without the sharing device?
