Syntax create address_binding ip_mac ipaddress mac_address {ports [ | all] | mode {arp | acl]} Description This command will create an IP-MAC Binding entry. Parameters Restrictions The IP address of the device where the IP-MAC binding is made. The MAC address of the device where the IP-MAC binding is made. - Specifies a port or range of ports to be configured for address binding. all - Specifies that all ports on the switch will be configured for address binding. mode - The user may set the mode for this IP-MAC binding settings by choosing one of the following: • arp - Choosing this selection will set a normal IP-MAC Binding entry for the IP address and MAC address entered. If the system is in ARP mode, the arp mode entries and acl mode entries will be effective. If the system is in the acl mode, only the acl mode entries will be active. • acl - Choosing this entry will allow only packets from the source IP-MAC binding entry created here. All other packets with a different IP address will be discarded by the Switch. This mode can only be used if the ACL Mode has been enabled in the IP-MAC Binding Ports window as seen previously. Only Administrator or Operator-level users can issue this command. Example usage: To create address binding on the Switch: DES-3800:admin#create address_binding ip_mac ipaddress 10.1.1.3 mac_address 00-00-00-00-00-04 Command: create address_binding ip_mac ipaddress 10.1.1.3 mac_address 00-00-00-00-00-04 Success. create address_binding ip_mac ipaddress
Purpose
Used to create an IP-MAC Binding entry.
Syntax
create address_binding ip_mac ipaddress <ipaddr> mac_address
<macaddr> {ports [<portlist> | all] | mode {arp | acl]}
Description
This command will create an IP-MAC Binding entry.
Parameters
<ipaddr>
The IP address of the device where the IP-MAC binding is
made.
<macaddr>
The MAC address of the device where the IP-MAC binding
is made.
<portlist>
- Specifies a port or range of ports to be configured for
address binding.
all
– Specifies that all ports on the switch will be configured for address
binding.
mode
– The user may set the mode for this IP-MAC binding settings by
choosing one of the following:
arp
-
Choosing this selection will set a normal IP-MAC
Binding entry for the IP address and MAC address entered. If
the system is in ARP mode, the arp mode entries and acl
