GS728TS, GS728TPS, GS752TS, and GS752TPS Gigabit Smart Switches To configure MAC filter settings: 1. To configure a new MAC filter: a. Select Create Filter from the MAC Filter menu. If no filters have been configured, this is the only option available. b. From the VLAN ID menu, select the VLAN to use with the MAC address to fully identify packets you want filtered. You can change this field only when the Create Filter option is selected from the MAC Filter menu. c. In the MAC Address field, specify the MAC address of the filter in the format 00:01:1A:B2:53:4D. You can change this field when you have selected the Create Filter option. You cannot define filters for the following MAC addresses: • 00:00:00:00:00:00 • 01:80:C2:00:00:00 to 01:80:C2:00:00:0F • 01:80:C2:00:00:20 to 01:80:C2:00:00:21 • FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF d. Click the orange bar to display the available ports and select the port(s) to include in the inbound filter. If a packet with the MAC address and VLAN ID you specify is received on a port that is not in the list, it will be dropped. In the following image shows the configuration of a MAC filter on the MAC address 00:1C:23:F8:03:37 with ports g2 and g3 as source port members. 226
