Description Use peer connect-interface to specify the source interface for establishing TCP connections to an IPv6 BGP peer or peer group. Use undo peer connect-interface to restore the default. By default, BGP uses the outbound interface of the best route to the IPv6 BGP peer/peer group as the source interface for establishing a TCP connection. To enhance stability of IPv6 BGP connections, HP recommends using a loopback interface as the source interface for establishing a TCP connection. To establish multiple BGP connections to a BGP router, you need to specify on the local router the respective source interfaces for establishing TCP connections to the peers on the peering BGP router; otherwise, the local BGP router may fail to establish TCP connections to the peers when using the outbound interfaces of the best routes as the source interfaces.
