Description Use rip version to specify a RIP version for the interface. Use undo rip version to remove the specified RIP version. By default, no RIP version is configured for an interface, which uses the global RIP version. If the global RIP version is not configured, the interface can only send RIPv1 broadcasts and can receive RIPv1 broadcasts and unicasts, and RIPv2 broadcasts, multicasts, and unicasts. If RIPv2 is specified with no sending mode configured, RIPv2 messages will be sent in multicast mode. When RIPv1 runs on an interface, the interface can perform the following operations: • Sends RIPv1 broadcast messages • Receives RIPv1 broadcast and unicast messages When RIPv2 runs on the interface in broadcast mode, the interface can perform the following operations: • Sends RIPv2 broadcast messages 53
