Select whether to display physical interfaces, LAGs, or both by clicking one of the following links above the table heading: • 1: Only physical interfaces are displayed. This is the default setting. • LAG: Only LAGs are displayed. • All: Both physical interfaces and LAGs are displayed. 7. To refresh the page, click the Refresh button. The following table describes the nonconfigurable fields on the page. Table 59. CST interface status information Field Interface Port ID Port Forwarding State Description The physical interface or LAG that is associated with the CST. The port identifier for port in the CST, which is created from the port priority and the interface number. Indicates the current STP state of the interface. If enabled, the port state determines what forwarding action is taken on traffic. Possible port states are as follows: • Disabled: STP is currently disabled on the interface. The interface forwards traffic while learning MAC addresses. • Blocking: The interface is currently blocked and cannot be used to forward traffic or learn MAC addresses. • Listening: The interface is currently in the listening mode. The interface cannot forward traffic nor can it learn MAC addresses. • Learning. The interface is currently in the learning mode. The interface cannot forward traffic. However, it can learn new MAC addresses. • Forwarding: The interface is currently in the forwarding mode. The interface can forward traffic and learn new MAC addresses. • Manual forwarding: The interface is currently in the manual forwarding mode. The interface can forward traffic and learn new MAC addresses Port Role Designated Root Designated Cost Designated Bridge Each MST bridge port that is enabled is assigned a port role for each spanning tree. The port role is one of the following: Root, Designated, Alternate, Backup, Master, or Disabled. The root bridge for the CST, which is created from the bridge priority and the base MAC address of the bridge. The path cost offered to the LAN by the designated port. The bridge identifier of the bridge with the designated port. This identifier is created from the bridge priority and the base MAC address of the bridge. Description

Field

The physical interface or LAG that is associated with the CST.

Interface

The port identifier for port in the CST, which is created from the port

priority and the interface number.

Port ID

Indicates the current STP state of the interface. If enabled, the port state

are as follows:

•

Port Forwarding State

Each MST bridge port that is enabled is assigned a port role for each

spanning tree. The port role is one of the following: Root, Designated,

Alternate, Backup, Master, or Disabled.

Port Role

The root bridge for the CST, which is created from the bridge priority and

the base MAC address of the bridge.

Designated Root

The path cost offered to the LAN by the designated port.

Designated Cost

The bridge identifier of the bridge with the designated port. This identifier

is created from the bridge priority and the base MAC address of the

bridge.
