Interfaces are identified by their type and the interface number. The physical ports are Gigabit Ethernet or multispeed 10G Ethernet interfaces and are numbered on the front panel. You configure the logical interfaces. The following table describes the naming convention for all interfaces available on the switch. Table 3. Naming conventions for interfaces Interface Description Example Physical interfaces Depending on the model, the physical ports are 1G, 2.5G,or 10G Ethernet interfaces or 1G or 10G fiber interfaces. The interface number consists of the switch number (always 0) followed by a forward slash and the port number, which is a sequential number starting from 1. 0/1, 0/2, 0/3, and so on Link aggregation group (LAG) LAG interfaces are logical interfaces that LAG 1, LAG 2, LAG 3, and so on are used only for bridging functions.
