Figure 91 Inband Management process The NAT IP table is loaded and automatically configured on bootup. The source address NAT is configured on the inband management interfaces to use the address of the CP management interface (eth0). The switch automatically uses the IP address of the CP management interface to source address NAT the new inband management interfaces, so no additional configuration will be required. IP address and routing management The CP and GE port processor Ethernet interfaces must have IP addresses associated with them. By default, there will be no IP addresses associated with these new Ethernet interfaces. To manage the IP addresses for the CP and GE port processor Ethernet interfaces, use the portCfg inbandmgmt command on the CP. The command syntax is as follows: portCfg inbandmgmt ge_port option arguments where: ipaddrset cp | ge ip_address netmask ipaddrdel cp | ge ip_address cp | ge ip_address netmask Configures the IP address and netmask for a CP or a GbE inband management interface. This command requires specifying the type of interface (cp or ge) an IPv4 address, and the subnet mask. For each management interface, configure two IP addresses, one for the CP and one for the GbE port. Deletes the IP address for a CP or GE inband management interface. Specify the type of interface (cp or ge) and the IPv4 address to be deleted. Specifies the interface type as either CP or GE port processor. This operand is required when configuring or deleting an IP address. Specifies the IP Address for the inband management interface. The IP address must be in IPv4 format, followed by the subnet mask. IPv6 addresses are not supported. This operand is required with the ipaddrset and ipaddrdel options. Specifies the subnet mask for the IP address in dotted-decimal notation. 548 Inband Management
