4 Paper handling To print you can load rolls, single sheets, or use the tray. General paper-loading advice You can load paper into the printer in three different ways: from a roll, as a single sheet, or as a stack of single sheets from the tray. Switching from one to another is automatic. CAUTION: If your model has a stand, make sure the printer wheels are locked (the brake lever is pressed down) to prevent the printer from moving the automatic switch between the roll and tray. CAUTION: All paper must be 368.3 mm (14.5 in) or wider. A4 and letter paper should not be loaded in landscape orientation. TIP: For photo paper wear cotton gloves to avoid transferring oils onto the paper. CAUTION: Keep the bin closed throughout the loading process. Load a roll onto the spindle Rolls of different widths can be loaded onto the printer. 1. From the control panel, tap the Paper icon , then select the roll, then tap the Load button. NOTE: This step is optional: when you start to feed roll paper into the printer, it automatically recognizes that you are loading a roll. 2. Remove the spindle from the printer. WARNING! Do not insert your fingers into the spindle supports during the removal process. 22 Chapter 4 Paper handling
