Note Inserting a pause while dialing You can insert pauses into a fax number you are dialing or programming to a one-touch key, speed-dial code, or group-dial code. Pauses are often needed when dialing internationally. Press REDIAL/PAUSE to enter a two-second pause in your dialing sequence. A comma appears on the control panel display, indicating that the pause will occur at that point in the dialing sequence. If you enter the pause at the end of a number you are programming into a one-touch key, speed-dial code, or group-dial code, the HP LaserJet 3100 product waits to dial this number until you enter another number. (This is also known as concatenated dialing.) Using special dialing symbols After enabling special dialing symbols, you can use them when dialing a fax number or entering a fax number for a one-touch key, speed-dial code, or group-dial code.
