3 Understanding the Fabric Manager Layout Task Panel The Task panel provides quick access to commonly performed tasks for the selected SAN element in the View panel. This is not a comprehensive list of tasks, but just the tasks that are used most often on the type of selected element. The task list changes depending on the type of element that is selected. For example, Figure 3-7 shows the Task panel when the entire SAN is selected (by clicking on the background of the View panel). The list of tasks is different than the list for a single fabric is selected, or when a device is selected (as shown in Figure 3-8 and Figure 3-9, respectively). To select a task from the Task panel, click on one of the task groups, and then select the task you want from the pop-up menu that displays, as shown in Figure 3-12. Figure 3-12 Selecting a Task from the Task Panel Information Panel The Information panel displays detailed information about the elements in the View panel. The Information panel consists of a series of tabs, each containing a table of information (as shown in Figure 3-13).
