NETGEAR 8800 Chassis Switch CLI Manual Usage Guidelines A stub area is connected to only one other area. The area that connects to a stub area can be the backbone area. External route information is not distributed into stub areas. Stub areas are used to reduce memory and computation requirements on OSPF routers. Example The following command configures an OSPF area as a stub area: configure ospf area 0.0.0.6 stub nosummary stub-default-cost 10 configure ospf area timer configure ospf area timer {} Description Configures the timers for all interfaces in the same OSPF area. Syntax Description area-identifier retransmit-interval transit-delay hello-interval dead-interval wait-timer-interval Specifies an OSPF area. Specifies the length of time that the router waits before retransmitting an LSA that is not acknowledged. The range is 1- 3,600 seconds. Specifies the length of time it takes to transmit an LSA packet over the interface. The range is 0 - 3,600 seconds. Specifies the interval at which routers send hello packets. The range is 1 - 65,535 seconds. Specifies the interval after which a neighboring router is declared down due to the fact that hello packets are no longer received from the neighbor. The range is 1 - 2,147,483,647 seconds. Specifies the interval between the interface coming up and the election of the DR and BDR. Usually equal to the dead timer interval.
