NETGEAR 8800 Chassis Switch CLI Manual broadcast mininterval maxinterval lifetime preference Specifies broadcast setting. Specifies the minimum time between advertisements. Specifies the maximum time between advertisements. Default is 600. Specifies the lifetime of the advertisement. Default is 1800. Specifies the router preference level. Default is 0. Default Broadcast (255.255.255.255). The default mininterval is 450. Usage Guidelines ICMP Router Discovery Protocol allows client machines to determine what default gateway address to use. The switch sends out IP packets at the specified intervals identifying itself as a default router. IRDP enabled client machines use this information to determine which gateway address to use for routing data packets to other networks. Example The following command sets the address of the router advertiser messages to multicast: configure irdp multicast configure vlan add secondary-ipaddress configure vlan add secondary-ipaddress [ {} | ] Description Configures secondary IP addresses on a VLAN to support multinetting.
