If your STPD has a name unique only to that STPD, the keyword stpd is optional. You should not configure any STP parameters unless you have considerable knowledge and experience with STP. The default STP parameters are adequate for most networks. By changing the priority of the port, you can make it more or less likely to become the root port or a designated port. A setting of 0 indicates the highest priority. The range for the priority parameter is 0 through 240 and is subject to the multiple of 16 restriction.
