ProSAFE 8-Port or 16-Port Gigabit Smart Managed Switch Model GS418TPP, GS510TLP, and GS510TPP Configure Router Discovery To configure router discovery: 1. Connect your computer to the same network as the switch. You can use a WiFi or wired connection to connect your computer to the network, or connect directly to a switch that is off-network using an Ethernet cable. 2. Launch a web browser. 3. In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch. If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see Change the Default IP Address of the Switch on page 11. The login window opens. 4. Enter the switch's password in the Password field. The default password is password. The System Information page displays. 5. Select Routing> Router Discovery > Router Discovery Configuration. 6. Select a check box to the left of the Interface column to select the router interface. 7. From the Advertise Mode menu, select Enable or Disable. If you select Enable, router advertisements are transmitted from the selected interface. 8. In the Advertise Address field, specify the IP address that must be advertised. In the Maximum Advertise Interval field, enter the maximum time (in seconds) allowed between router advertisements sent from the interface. The default value is 600. 9. In the Minimum Advertise Interval field, enter the minimum time (in seconds) allowed between router advertisements sent from the interface. The value must be in the range of 3 to 1800. The default value is 450. In the Advertise Lifetime field, enter the value (in seconds) to be used as the lifetime field in router advertisements sent from the interface. This is the maximum length of time that the advertised addresses are to be considered as valid router addresses by hosts. The default value is 1800. 10. In the Preference Level field, specify the preference level of the router as a default router relative to other routers on the same subnet. Configure Routing 237
