Beginning with version 8.3.1.0, when a Gratuitous ARP is received, FTOS installs an ARP entry on all 3 CPUs. arp retries c e s Set the number of ARP retries in case the system does not receive an ARP reply in response to an ARP request. Syntax arp retries number Parameters number Enter the number of retries. Range: 5 to 20. Default: 5 Defaults 5 Command Modes CONFIGURATION Command History Version 8.3.5.0 Version 8.3.1.0 Introduced on the S55. Introduced Usage Retries are 20 seconds apart. Information Related Commands show arp retries Display the configured number of ARP retries. arp timeout c e s Set the time interval for an ARP entry to remain in the ARP cache. Syntax arp timeout minutes To return to the default value, enter no arp timeout. Parameters seconds Enter the number of minutes. Range: 0 to 35790. Default: 240 minutes.
