fcipPathTest fcipPathTest Tests the data path of the FCIP complex. Synopsis fcippathtest [--slot slot] [-lb_mode mode] [-nframes count] Description Use this command to verify the data paths in the FCIP complex. All data path modes run tests by comparing Fibre Channel frames or data packets transmitted from and received by the network processor due to the designated loopback. This command is supported only on the Brocade 7840, FX8-24, SX6 platforms. Executing this command causes the switch or blade to reboot. Notes The execution of this command is subject to Virtual Fabric restrictions that may be in place. Refer to "Using Fabric OS Commands" and "Command Availability" for details. Operands This command has the following operands: --slot slot Specifies the slot number on which the diagnostic operates. The default is 0 and operates on fixed-port-count products. -lb_mode mode Specifies the loopback mode for the test. By default, this test uses the External (SERDES) loopback mode 2 which is the only loopback mode supported on Brocade 7840 and SX6 platforms. Other valid values in addition to mode 2 for FX8-24 platforms are as follows: 1 Port loopback (requires loopback plugs) 2 External (SERDES) loopback 5 Internal (parallel) loopback 7 Backend bypass and port loopback (requires loopback plugs) 8 Backend bypass and SERDES loopback -nframes count Specifies the number of frames to send. The test progresses until the specified number of frames is transmitted on each port. The default value is 100 for FX8-24 platforms and 4 for Brocade 7840 platform.
