36 Router Information Protocol (RIP) Overview Router Information Protocol (RIP) is a Distance Vector routing protocol. FTOS supports both RIP version 1 (RIPv1) and RIP version 2 (RIPv2). The symbols s z under command headings indicate which Dell Networking - S6000 , S-Series or Z-Series, respectively - support the command. Note: The S-Series platform supports RIP with FTOS version 9.0.2.0 and later. The FTOS implementation of RIP is based on IETF RFCs 2453 and RFC 1058. For more information on configuring RIP, refer to the FTOS Configuration Guide.
