Rotating, Skewing, To rotate an object with the menu

Rotating Objects You can rotate a selected object using the Rotate tool or by choosing Rotate from the Transform menu. You can choose the precise amount you want to rotate the object. The selected object rotates around its center point. You can also select multiple objects, and they will also rotate around their respective center points. If you want multiple objects to rotate around a common center point, you must first group them. If you selected multiple objects, each object rotates around its own center point. Using the Rotate tool, you drag an object around its center point until it appears in the position you want. To rotate the selected object in 45° increments, hold the SHIFT key down while dragging the object. You can also use keyboard shortcuts to rotate objects. To rotate the selected object counter-clockwise 15°, press [, or for 1° press SHIFT+[. To rotate it clockwise 15°, press ], or for 1°, press SHIFT+]. "To rotate an object with the menu: 1. Select the object(s) you want to rotate. 2. From the Transform menu, choose Rotate. 3. Enter in the amount of rotation you want from -359° to +359°. 4. Click on Rotate. The selected object rotates around its center point. If you selectedmultiple objects, Drawing rotates each around its center point. "To rotate an object with the Rotate tool: 1. Select the object you want to rotate. Handles appear around the object. 2. Select the Rotate tool on the Drawing tool bar. The pointer changes to a curved arrow when you move it over the drawing area. 3. Place the tip of the arrow on one of the handles surrounding the selected object. The pointer changes to crossed arrows. 4. Grab the handle by clicking and holding down the left mouse button. The handles disappear. 5. Continuing to hold down the mouse button, move the Rotate tool clockwise or counter-clockwise until the object is in the position you want. A dotted outline shows the position of the object as you rotate it. 6. Release the mouse button. The object appears in its new position with handles around it. Skewing Objects You can skew an object to make it slant horizontally or vertically at a precise angle. 1. Select one or more objects that you want to skew. 2. Choose Skew from the Transform menu. The dialog box at the left appears. 3. Select the skew angle you want. Drawingskews selected objects using the skew angle you chose. S Horizontal. Select the degrees to skew the selected objects horizontally. A positive value skews the object to the left, and a negative value skews it to the right. You can set skew angles from -89 to 89 degrees. S Vertical. Select the skew degrees to skew the selected objects vertically. A positive value skews the object upwards, and a negative value skews it downwards. You can set skew angles from minus 89 to 89 degrees. Drawing 223
